My Shopping Experience with Casa de Fruta
From the very beginning when I lived in Chicago, and in search of Christmas presents when I first found Casa de Fruta, my experience has been a very happy one. Their dried fruits and nuts made excellent gifts, especially for most of my friends who are senior citizens like myself. The baskets and the crates of the rich, colorful fruit are so attractive you hesitate to open them, afraid to spoil the look and the arrangement. But once you do open them, they taste so good - by themselves, in cereal, and stewed for dessert. They are simply excellent.

In the early years, when Casa de Fruta had not yet developed and adopted online ordering, and I ordered over the telephone or by mail or fax from the printed catalogue (how I first found out about Casa - from the catalogue they sent me), I had an experience that bound me to Casa de Fruta for good. Through some fault in ordering over the phone, I received a double order of gifts: two sets of each gift came to me - two tins of cashews, two tins of mixed nuts, two baskets of apricots, two baskets of dates. I was charged for only the one order - one set of each. I called Casa up before Christmas to tell them about their sending the order twice and to ask them how I should return the extra order - by UPS, by US. mail, etc. I was quite surprised when the kindly clerk told me to simply keep the second order too and enjoy them with Casa de Fruta’s compliments and best wishes for a merry Christmas. Well, I was really delighted; I said to myself that these are very gracious people and people with good business sense - they know how to respond to an error, and they know how to make people feel good. Right then I determined that Casa de Fruta would have an order from me at Christmas as long as I lived and was able to manage it.

Finally I must tell you of my experience with the lottery gift of $100.00 to shop for Casa de Fruta products. When I received my first notice that I had won the monthly lottery, I must admit that I ignored it. I thought it was one of those fraudulent "come-ons" that appear so often on the Internet, where the sender is really hoping for your personal information so that he may break into your accounts. When the notice was sent again, I thought that I had better look into it. I followed the links on the email and they appeared to be true. However, to be sure, I found the telephone number under David Rose’s name, and I called him to check it out. He assured me that it was all true, and told me just how it worked. Happily reassured, I was delighted, and I went right to work to spend my $100.00.

I am grateful for receiving this gift, and I am very grateful to Casa de Fruta for persisting in telling me that I really did win it, and to David Rose for encouraging me to get right to it and shop my $100.00 worth of produce. Casa de Fruta has really done very well by me and have been most kind and generous. And I thank you.

Our contest shopping spree is going to the birds. Parrots that is. Nadine Larsen of Merrimack, New Hampshire visited casadefruta.com looking for shelled almonds for her picky parrot, Angel. "They're impossible to get out here this time of year," she says. Luckily, Casadefruta.com carries them, along with dried fruit, which Angel also likes.
